This instruction assumes you already have FLDIGI set up and beaconing ok.
Make sure FLDIGI is running.
- Select FLDIGI Setup tab in Beacon Scheduler.
Setup FLDIGI Macro
Select Macro #
Use the down arrow in the RHS of this window to activate pull down menu.
From the pull-down menu select the correct Macro number.
Note: FLDIGI Macro Buttons are numbered from left to right across the FLDIGI screen with CQ button containing Macro#1 and the T/R button containing Macro #9, etc.
So counting those buttons from left to right until you reach your assigned Beacon Button will give you your beacon’s Macro#.
When you have selected your Macro #, click the Set Macro Number button.
- Select Beacon Setup Tab
Enter your Station Info
Note: Do not put any info in the Frequency and Mode windows. they will be populated directly from FLDIGI.
This info is critical. It is the Sent Beacon info that is placed in the data base each time the Scheduler triggers a beacon.
It will be used to compare with the Beacons Heard data to give us an accurate ratio of Beacons Heard/Beacons Sent plotted against current conditions.
This feature will greatly improve the accuracy of our overall results.
Get Scheduler’s beacon Macro
Click on Get Beacon/Start Time link located beneath Station Info.
Located across the top of the Assigned Time Slot Table is the required Beacon Macro.
Copy and Paste this new macro into your chosen Macro Button, replacing the current beacon Macro.
Set Start Time
From the Assigned Time Slots Table find your assigned time slot and enter tour start time in the Set Start Time window in the following format: hh:mm:ss, where hh is the current hour UTC.
Set Interval Time to 30 Minutes
Click the Start Scheduler
- Select Log Tab
The Log tells you when the beacon will start, when it has been triggered, and when it will get triggered again. It will also indicate a skipped beacon.
